Time to take out the technology!

Yes it's happned. For months i have feared that my highly loved DVD player would become sick and...pass away. But i never knew it would happen so soon. Technology is a total love of mine. I have grown up in a world of advanced technology that has made life a HELL of a lot easier for all people. But how good IS technology? When the first DVD players came out they were like one of the worlds greatest inventions...they costed around $600 (i should know i had one that soon after got stolen). But this DVD player i "had" lasted for around 5 years...in fact i now use it as my own DVD player, but around 2-3 years ago some of the chepest DVD players around were $100 and that was a total bargain then. That's when i bought my first DVD player! It was magnificent you could play almost any disc in it... VCD, super VCD, DATA ECT. But only around two months later i was watching Red Dwarf on it when the disc tray would not open. I started to get frustrated and worried i tried many ways in trying to get it open...but it wouldn't budge. So in final result i had to open the DVD player and get the disc out. And thnakfully i still had the 6 month guareentee thingy on it so it was straight to Harvey Norman to get a new one. And i ended up getting the same DVD player but not the one i brought back. At least i had confidence in this new one...and a good thing that i did...that DVD player lasted 2 years up until yesterday. I was just about to watch an Epiode of the goodies when... They tray would not open...i knew what had happned and gave up i was hopeing that perhaps it was just a bit "ill" but the poor thing was worn to the bone. And today i had to give the poor thing up...it made me terribly sad to see it go. The memories of watching the goodies, fawlty towers, red dwarf, ECT. were not in the bin...i kept trying to say to my dad that if i kept one of the circuit boards it might keep me sane...but dad insited i throw the poor thing out...so as he carried it out to the bin i swiped the remote and called it "Celesital JR" to remind me of the DVD player i loved so much.

Technology is loving torture.
